Website Structure

Your website structure is an important part of your SEO project. The structure must be easy to follow (links) and have a site map.

All of this is to first make it easy for the reader to find your posts and pages. And second to make it easy for the search engine bots to index your whole site.

Navigation

Your readers should be able to find anything on your site with no more than 3 clicks of their mouse. The fewer clicks the better.

Your navigation bar should be easy to find and use. There should be links between similar posts and pages to make navigation simpler.

Two Important Files

Your website should have a site map and robot text files. The site map makes it easy for the bots to index and the robot text file tells the bot what not to index (such as your legal policies).

Google Webmaster Tools is an excellent reference location for these files.

Remember if your site is easy for your readers to find things, it will be easy for the bots to index.
